COVID-19 Travel Updates

Rules and regulations change on a bi-weekly basis. As of October 1, Non-essential travel to Portugal is PERMITTED. Non-essential travel (i.e., tourist travel) from the United States to Portugal is currently permitted for travelers with proof of a negative COVID-19 test (see below for testing details).

You can check the current status on the US Embassy website (linked below) in the weeks ahead of our wedding.

 

Testing Requirements

Entry and Exit Requirements (as of October 1). Check the most up-to-date information at the U.S. Embassy website noted above.

All authorized travelers arriving from the United States, except for children under 12 years old must submit one of the following:

  • A EU Digital Vaccination Certificate

  • A negative SARSCoV-2 lab result of a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), for example a PCR test, performed in the last 72 hours or

  • A negative rapid antigen test (TRAg) performed within 48 hours of boarding

Further Travel Details + Requirements

Wedding Events: All guests will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter the welcome party + the wedding. If you are not vaccinated, we recommend that you schedule a COVID test the Wednesday or Thursday before the events.

Portugal’s most up-to-date travel information and COVID-19 restrictions can be found on the Visit Portugal website below. We also recommend that you check with your airlines to ensure that you have all their proper paperwork as well.
